Youth Garage Sale October 21

Youth Garage Sale October 21

by Sandy Jones on September 27, 2023

October is rapidly approaching and it is time to prepare for the first Youth Fundraiser of the 2023-2024 school year. We are trying to raise money to off-set the cost of summer trips for 2024 (the Junior Highers will be going to Camp Eagle and the High Schoolers will be going on a Mission Trip to Bayou la Batre). We are planning to host a garage sale at the church in the morning on October 21. Please consider cleaning out your closets, garage, and even the kitchen cabinets to donate to our worthy cause. Any furniture you are no longer enjoying or exercise equipment that is currently holding all your winter clothes, would be greatly appreciated, as well as smaller items such as clothes and kitchen ware.

I am planning to be at the church in the evenings (from 4:30-6:30 PM) on Tuesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 19 to receive donations, but if you have something to donate and want to arrange drop off at another time, please just let me know ( ) and we will work it out.

Youth and parents, here’s the link to sign up for a shift at our garage sale.

The first shift will be 7:00 to 9:30 AM and the second shift will be 9:30 AM to noon. You can sign up for more than one shift if you would like. Other family members can sign up for a shift too to earn more money for your youth.

Today’s prayer comes from www.justdisciple.com/christian-youth-prayer/

Lord, I lift up the Youth of Saint Dunstan’s to you today as they go about their day. Please reveal yourself to them in a new way and remind them of your presence in their lives. Help them to rely on your Holy Spirit for guidance and direction as they face the challenges of this new day.

Encourage them with joy in trying situations and comfort them when they are discouraged. Grow and stretch them in a new way Lord, and pour out your grace and mercy over them when they fall short.

Develop in them an identity founded in Christ so that they would become grounded in who you say they are. Confirm in their hearts that you are their Father, and lavish your unending love on them today.

Amen.
