Fr. Alvaro can best be described as a husband, father, Doctor of Ecclesiastical law, author, and clergyman. He has a passion for communications, including radio and social networks. For more than 20 years he has been a guest at forums and conferences about what he describes as the five dimension of a person’s life: the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and connectional. He has written extensively on these topics and he is a regular at Aliento de Dios Radio where he teaches a Spanish-speaking audience of over 110,000 people how to live wholistic lives by integrating all these dimensions. For 15 years, Padre Alvaro was an Ecclesiastical Judge in a Roman Catholic Tribunal in Miami. While in Miami, he participated in radio and television programs as a commentator and educator. Padre Alvaro became an Episcopalian in 2015, soon after relocating from Miami to the Houston area.
In 2020, Padre Alvaro completed his education in Anglican Theology at the Iona School for Ministry of the Diocese of Texas. He founded Aliento de Dios Radio in 2021. Prior to St. Dunstan’s, he served as Curate of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Texas. Fr. Alvaro is married to Martha C. Lopez, and they have a 15-year-old daughter, Natalia. In his spare time, he plays tennis and reads books in different languages (Spanish, English, Italian, Latin.) He is the author of “Cinco Dimensiones Para Parejas en Crisis” (Five Dimensions for Couples in Crisis) and “Cinco Dimensiones Para Una Riqueza Abundante” (Five Dimensions for an Abundant Life.)
