Saint Dunstan’s took 15 youth and 5 adults to Camp Eagle, in Rocksprings, in June. The kids had a wonderful time studying the Bible, praising God, and having adventures. Thank you to everyone who donated to our various fundraisers throughout the year to support us.

On August 1, we had our annual lock-in. We had seven kids participate and three adult chaperones. By happenstance, it was an all female event. We played games, sang Karaoke, danced like no one was watching, watched movies, ate midnight breakfast, and eventually slept for a couple of hours. It was so much fun!

On August 17, we had the annual Mother-Daughter tea to kick off the new school year of JDOK. It was a good time of prayer, fellowship, tea, and of course plenty of silliness.

On September 7, Sunday School, Children’s and Youth Choirs, and Youth Group resumed. We also held the annual kickoff potluck and kickball game (well, sort of). It rained A LOT that day, so instead of slipping and sliding our way through a kickball game, we stayed inside and played my favorite game - PICTIONARY. Several of our families with children and youth participated in this event and, in my completely unbiased opinion, a good time was had by all.

On October 4, we held our annual yard sale benefitting the youth of Saint Dunstan’s. The congregation was generous and not only donated lots of great items, but several of you came and shopped as well. Thank you so much for your continued support of our youth.

Wow! Sorting through the photos on my phone and drafting this blog has made me realize just how many activities the youth here at Saint Dunstan’s have had in such a short amount of time, and we are not stopping.
On November 8 we have another fundraising event benefitting the youth. We will be hosting Bingo in the Parish Hall. Doors will open at 2:30 PM and Bingo will begin at 3:00 PM. It will be time for fun and fellowship, and concessions will be available for purchase. Our very own Catherine Jones Penco will be facilitating and the money raised will go toward next summer’s Camp Eagle trip.
That’s right, we are already planning and working toward next summer. In 2026, we have 20 youth and 5 adult chaperones going to camp. Please plan to attend our Bingo event on November 8. You can purchase your Bingo cards by clicking this link
On November 25, we will be having a youth social event in the BEC from 9 AM to 2 PM. On December 7 we will be selling hand-made crafts in the Mace Room during the Sunday School hour. December 14, we will celebrate with the annual Acolyte & Youth Christmas Party in the Parish Hall. We also continue to have our Junior High and High School Sunday School classes at 10:15 AM and Youth Group every Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:15 PM. If you know someone in grades 6-12, please encourage them to get involved.
Families of youth, please join our Remind group by texting @stdsyo to 415-799-2512 so you don’t miss any important announcements.
Thank you so much for your continued support! Please keep the youth in your prayers as they are making decisions and experiencing events that will help shape them into the wonderful adults they will become.
Sandy
