A Message of Gratitude and Hope

A Message of Gratitude and Hope

by Jerre Bergeron on February 25, 2026

Dear Beloved Parishioners,

As I prepare to step down from my role as Director of Pastoral Care after nine years of service, my heart is full of gratitude for each of you. It has been one of my greatest honors to walk alongside you, to share in your joys and sorrows, and to see the strong faith that makes our community so special.

Throughout the years, I have been inspired daily by the kindness, generosity, and resilience of our congregation. Your willingness to support one another, to show compassion to those in need, and to live out Christ’s love in meaningful ways has been a constant source of hope for me. I am deeply grateful to our priests: Fr. Roman, Fr. Steve, Fr. Naty, Fr. Rob and Fr. Randall whose wisdom and partnership have enriched my journey and strengthened our shared ministry.

Pastoral care is, at its heart, about connection—being present for each other in times of need and celebration. Thank you for welcoming me into your lives, for trusting me with your stories, and for allowing me to serve as a companion on your spiritual paths. Each interaction, prayer, and moment of togetherness has left a lasting imprint in my heart.

The wine and hors d’oeuvres gathering offered such a rich opportunity to be together. Thank you for the calls, texts, gifts and notes you have showered upon me.

Though I am stepping away from this position, my affection for this rich community remains steadfast. You will be in excellent hands with Cathy Sullivant as the new director; she is an exceptional child of God. I look forward to seeing the ongoing growth and transformation of St. Dunstan’s Pastoral Care, knowing that God’s love continues to shine through each one of you. May you always find peace, comfort, and purpose in one another, and may our church remain a beacon of faith and compassion.

With love and appreciation,

Jerre Bergeron
