My Ministry at St. Dunstan's

My Ministry at St. Dunstan's

by Fr. Naty Menjivar on July 23, 2025

Over the past two weeks since my family and I were first introduced to the St. Dunstan’s community—both Anglo and Hispanic—I have been observing and listening to the people of God to discern and define my ministry here. It brings me great joy to be part of this blessed congregation, where people of faith share a vision to live out the Gospel of Christ as a united body, rooted in faith and growing in community.

St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church exists to provide a spiritual framework in which we can understand, live, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our communion here calls us to continually deepen our understanding of Christ’s message and to present that transformative message to others, who may freely receive it as their spiritual journey unfolds.

Those who engage in this shared journey—whether formally as members or as faithful friends of the church, such as many in the Hispanic community—are integral to the life of St. Dunstan’s. Through the leadership of our Rector, Fr. Roman Roldan, and our Associate Rector, Fr. Steve Ferguson, we invite all people into a lived experience of Christ’s Good News.

Some respond to that call by participating in public ministry, either as paid staff or as volunteers, using their Spirit-given gifts to offer healing, compassion, and care in times of need. Others may align their hearts and lives with Jesus’ message through prayer, pastoral care, or participation in loving, organized ministries—both within and beyond the walls of the church.

Some may be called to lives centered on prayer and community, whether gathered in one place or scattered throughout the city, seeking to make God’s presence known in the world through a simple rule of life.

In summary, I see my ministry at St. Dunstan’s as one of full participation in the life of this Church—supporting, strengthening, and integrating all of our ministries, especially by helping the Hispanic community become more fully woven into the fabric of the whole congregation. I am committed to identifying and encouraging leaders within the Hispanic ministry to take part in the many existing programs and opportunities for service and growth.

May God continue to bless this wonderful community and all the ministries we share in Christ’s name.
