Introducing the Family Fellowship
St. Dunstan’s is excited to start a new ministry for families and caregivers with children! This fellowship is a relaxed way to connect with one another while kids play, and grown-ups enjoy some easy conversation. You might gather in someone’s home, meet at a park or playground, or choose another space that works for everyone. The group can decide what fits best for their families and adjust as seasons and schedules change.
Simple, Family-Friendly Meals
When meeting in a home, the host family can offer a simple, kid-friendly meal. Think pizza, sandwiches, finger foods, hot dogs, burgers, or anything easy and low-stress. The goal is to keep things simple — no fancy cooking required! Hosting rotates so no one feels overwhelmed, and everyone gets to enjoy nights when they don’t have to cook.
Time for Kids to Play
Kids are great at turning just about anything into fun — especially when they’re playing together at someone else’s house! Familiar toys feel brand new again when shared with friends. Families can set out ride-on toys, balls, sidewalk chalk, or keep things simple with crayons and a big roll of paper. Older kids can watch and play with younger kids, and activities can be adjusted to fit different ages, abilities, and comfort levels, making sure all children feel welcome and included.
Time for Grown-Ups to Connect
This fellowship also gives parents, caregivers, and guardians a chance to relax and connect. Sundays can be busy, and conversations are often rushed — but here, adults can share stories, ask questions, laugh, and support one another. Whether you’re in the middle of the “busy years” or have recently been there, this is a space to learn from each other and remember that you’re not alone.
Flexible Hosting & Scheduling
Families can sign up to be part of the Faith & Families Fellowship and decide together how often to meet. Meeting once a month is a nice goal, but participation is always flexible. At your first gathering, you can look ahead and decide who will host upcoming meet-ups or where future gatherings might take place. There’s no one “right” way — just what works best for the group.
When We’ll Begin
Sign-ups for this ministry will be available at church over the next several weeks. We hope to begin with a kick-off event at church after Easter. You can also sign up using the link below, and we’ll follow up with more details as plans take shape.
At its heart, the Family Fellowship is about building community — creating space where faith is lived out in everyday moments, where children are free to be joyful, and where caregivers can find encouragement and friendship. Whether gatherings are big or small, noisy or quiet, each one is a reminder that we grow stronger when we walk together. We look forward to seeing how God works through these shared meals, shared laughter, and shared lives. We can’t wait to welcome you and your family!
